Garador Mk3c Garage Door Spring

This Garador Mk3c spring and pulley assembly is to suit Garador garage door with an overhead springbox (manufactured pre-1999). Will also include doors manufactured by Westland Engineering and Catnic.

This spring is not to be confused with similar side springs found on the later Garador C-type model door manufactured between 1999 and 2002.

Note: If the existing springbox does not have a removable plastic cover it is not recommended to carry out repairs and a new box unit should be purchased instead. Click here to view springbox options.

It is always recommended to replace springs in pairs so that the door remains balanced.

How can I identify which spring strength I need?

First, check the existing springs for coloured bands of paint around the spring. If the existing springs are too rusted to make out any markings, you can use the Spring Table further down the page to identify the required strength. To do this make a note of the width and height of the door along with the garage door style or pattern.

What are the different types of these Mk3C Garage Door Springs?

There are two lengths of spring which are 30 inches and 36 inches long respectively. However, within those, there are also multiple different variants. They are usually marked with coloured bands as mentioned above to help you identify them. We have listed them below.

However please note that if your springbox does not have a removable cover we recommend that you do not carry out any repairs. The modern springboxes included a couple of safety features not present on the older models, which includes slots in the box to allow springs to be locked under tension, and the removable plastic cover allows for safer access to the springs.
